Cholesterol – Nature, Importance and Disadvantages

Everything in the human body should be in proportion and balance. If this balance is disturbed, then we get some or the other disease. This includes cholesterol. Cholesterol is closely related to heart, liver and kidney diseases. It is also linked to high blood pressure and, indirectly, diabetes. People who have high cholesterol or uncontrolled blood sugar have an increased risk of developing heart disease.

Cholesterol is high in 37% of men and 40% of women, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). 2.6 million people die due to cholesterol and 29.7 million people become disabled. The agency says that if men over the age of 40 reduce their cholesterol levels by 10%, their disease rate can be reduced by 5%. Cholesterol is a type of fat found in animals. Our liver produces it in the form of a liquid. We also get it from animal sources, such as eggs, meat and milk. In contrast, it is not found in vegetables, fruits and grains. It helps to produce hormones and vitamins and maintains the cell membrane. Cholesterol is actually a type of fat (LIPDS). Such fats are found all over our body. Cholesterol cannot run in the blood alone, so fats have to go along with proteins. Fatty proteins (lipoproteins) are formed. There are two types of fatty proteins. The first type is HDL (HIGH DENSITY LIPOPROTEIN), which is called good cholesterol. The second type is LDL (LOW DENSITY LIPOPROTEIN), it is called bad cholesterol. Good cholesterol is one third or fourth in the body, which draws bad cholesterol from the whole body and brings it to the liver. From where it is expelled from the body. LDL is bad cholesterol, but it is still important for the body because it makes hormones, but if its levels exceed a certain level in the body, it accumulates in the arteries and freezes Is . Narrowing of the arteries affects the flow of blood. If the coronary arteries leading to the heart are affected, there is a risk of a heart attack. Similarly, if the arteries that supply blood to the brain become narrow, a person may suffer a stroke. If the cholesterol starts to rise, there are no symptoms on the body, but they do form around the eyes and on the elbows. A blood sample is taken and tested in a laboratory. If you want to get better results, do not eat or drink anything for eight hours before taking a blood sample.

Cholesterol-lowering individuals can be divided into three groups: The first group is those who do not have heart disease, diabetes, liver or high blood pressure in their family. They are also not older than 50 years. ۔ They are not fat and do not smoke. Their cholesterol should be less than 200. The second group is those who have never had a heart attack, but they are the most dangerous people mentioned above. Cholesterol should be less than 160. The third group includes people who have suffered from some of the above diseases, their cholesterol should be less than 130. People who have had a heart attack and have diabetes should have a cholesterol of up to 70. The biggest cause of high cholesterol is eating fatty foods. An American organization says that we should not eat more than 300 mg of cholesterol a day. 30% of our total calories come from fat. Also, SATURATED FAT should be less than 10%. In addition, smoking, lack of exercise and mental stress also increase cholesterol, so avoid them. As far as the activities of young people are concerned, they are very limited. Now they only play video games, in which only their fingers move. As a result, they suffer from heart disease and stroke. The risk is higher than the older generation. One expert says that we should walk or jog for 30 minutes 5 days a week, and it is also appropriate to do para and light exercise. In the same way, we should keep urging women to get rid of fat, because They are spreading heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes due to obesity.

Whether male or female, he should control his weight. For people with normal blood pressure, just one egg is enough to get cholesterol. Egg yolks should not be eaten if it is proven that you have high cholesterol. If you eat low calorie food and exercise regularly, good cholesterol will increase and bad cholesterol will decrease. Peanuts And there is nothing wrong with eating almonds two or three times a week, because they contain good fats that raise good cholesterol. To control cholesterol, avoid ghee, beef, fatty foods, oats, butter and cheese. Olive oil, fish oil and dried fruits can be eaten in small quantities. Eat more vegetables, fruits and pulses.
